Holy Moly has an observation on Chris Martin’s  antics in their newsletter this week. Methinks it is another giant slice of PR hubris.

Anyway – this conversation ACTUALLY took pace this week (and people wonder why Coldplay are up their own arse more than a piece of sweetcorn).

After the Radio 4 interview (which Chris stormed out of) someone from EMI called the producer and said, “If you run Chris walking out, it will really damage our relationship.”

“What, the relationship between me and you?” says the producer.

“No.”

“The relationship between EMI and Front Row?”

“No.”

“The relationship between EMI and Radio 4?”

“No. The relationship between EMI and the BBC.”

So EMI threaten the BBC with full artist withdrawal? Good decision.

Having said all that, one of the loveliest sights at the friends and family rehearsal gig Coldplay did at Wembley Arena last week was Gwyneth Paltrow, who was seen enthusiastically air-drumming and air-guitaring all the way though. Which reminds us…
