Jay – Z and a very modern publicity stunt

b000050hs902lzzzzzzz.jpg

Jane Fonda and John Lennon created a PR backlash for the US administration when they used their celebrity 35 years ago to protest against the Vietnam War.

In the 21st century, red faces in the US administration are caused by the rapper Jay-Z dissing the dollar.

This stunt indicates that modem celebrities feel that the war in Iraq isn’t worth getting in a sweat over, instead monetary chaos is more painful and generates more global publicity Jay – Z’s stunt intersects the current zeitgeist. The soulless rapper chooses to exploit the debate on the low value of the dollar in his new video Blue Magic. Jay -Z has made a statement by featuring another currency as he cruises the streets of New York in a Rolls Royce (now owned by Volkswagen and BMW) with a briefcase of 500 Euro notes. Clever boy, it’s a shame that the agitprop of Ochs and Dylan is just another analogue blur. Jay-z proves he is a sharp pragmatist in generating ink
